Now that the trees and bushes have nicely leafed out, the lush undergrowth is starting to sprout up, you can see how nicely my feeder blends into the landscape.
After the disturbance caused by the antler collectors, life has nicely returned to the wallow and to my feeder as well.
It’s interesting to see that the game is increasingly less bothered by the motion-sensor feeder lamp mounted on the hawthorn next to the feeder.
Which operates in an extremely energy-efficient way.
On one hand, the whole setup is activated by a dusk sensor, which only allows the electronics to run once night falls,
On the other hand, on detecting motion it starts with an almost imperceptible glowing green light, and reaches maximum brightness over 6 minutes, which is just enough for aiming at night.
If, in the meantime, the motion stops at any point, after 1 minute it begins to nicely dim, and starting from full brightness, likewise dims out over 6 minutes and switches to standby mode.
Well, this device has now been up in the tree for nearly half a year and switches on relentlessly whenever it detects motion.
In the images you can clearly see that it’s shining brighter at 4:30 than at 4:27.
