Life is starting to return to the Big Green Wallow . . .
Today at 04:36 – while the camera was still in night, black-and-white mode – these fine young pigs arrived and spent more than an hour here, methodically picking up even the weekend’s few handfuls of corn.
It’s been a long time since I’ve seen wild boar out in broad daylight like this.
By the way, these three are the real survivors from last year’s litter of 5.
While still very young, at first they came with their mother, then at some point I noticed they were coming to my feeder without her.
They didn’t tag along with other sows, they managed on their own.
I met them at my feeder most recently.
They came from the front and wouldn’t step further out of the shadowy cover, and they must have sensed something, because they moved on again quite quickly, without a sound.
