A Zeiss Secacam 7 is now set up on this feeder, and I’m getting to know, test, and fine-tune its functions.
I’d been basically satisfied with the earlier Spypoint "flagship" models, but I wanted to see for myself what Zeiss could do.
My idea was to get videos synced to the feeder automat’s timer, but so far I haven’t found a way to do that among the menu options.
Right now the camera sends 1 photo triggered by the PIR sensor, with 1-minute pauses in between.
It also records a 30-second video in Full HD, which the camera stores on its own memory card.
Unfortunately the video transmission would have been quite limited in resolution ( only 10mp, 480p 🙁 ), so I didn’t bother with it.
Quality footage matters more to me than just "having something".
For checking the feeder automat’s activity, right now I only have a very primitive before-and-after method available . . .
