Relatively little has been said so far about the wild boar visiting the ditch to the SW of the Treestand, on my left (it only holds a bit of water during the spring floods or heavy rains), or rather about those coming to the acorns regularly scattered on its bank closer to the stand.
Because no matter how often the little striped piglets rush the corn scattered by the new feeder, the "old-timers," and even last year’s yearlings, show considerably more interest in the acorns scattered here, and methodically gather up the bucketful of acorns put out twice a week.
Meanwhile, they also nicely clear out the dense undergrowth that was originally there, unwittingly helping to keep the aiming and shooting lanes unobstructed.
